About the job

As a member of the Global Communications and Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with media, creators, social media influencers and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; and develop materials supporting these campaigns. You will be a communicator who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts, social media content and more. Crucially, you embrace AI as a powerful partner in your process using AI tools to assist your communication planning and work.

It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage day-to-day relationships with local and national media, including Ads/B2B, business and consumer media, and relevant opinion formers, industry commentators, content creators and influencers.
  • Craft and execute communication strategies and creative campaigns around our products and services.
  • Develop communications content, relevant for different audiences and across different channels and platforms, including social media and video content.
  • Act as a company spokesperson and profile executives and spokespeople through media engagements, speaking opportunities, including message preparation and media training.
  • Advocate an AI-first mindset, integrate generative tools into your daily workflow to enhance creativity, scale operational efficiency, and drive data-backed storytelling, while upholding Google’s AI Principles.
