Google is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the evolution of our internal Continuous Delivery (CD) system. The Rollouts team develops Google's primary production deployment software, which encompasses version changes, capacity management, and configuration changes. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive technical strategy that will standardize APIs (REST, gRPC, etc.), dramatically enhance CD performance, and ensure robust interoperability with both internal and external tooling.
As the overall Rollouts Technical Lead, you'll build collaborative bridges across Google, including Product Management, UX, Program Management, Tech Writing, and multiple engineering organizations. You will directly shape how Google delivers software for both safety and velocity, enabling reliability, risk reduction, safety, compliance, and development velocity outcomes for server developers at Google while preserving the speed of innovation. You'll work with established systems that involve technical compromises and the need to balance innovation with backwards compatibility. In addition, you will drive the cultural and technical change necessary to scale and evolve industry integrations platform-wide.
