Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages: C or C++.
- Experience in low level programming on C or C++.
- Experience working with operating systems, computer architecture, embedded systems and Linux/Unix kernel, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with System Software in any of the following areas - ARM/ARM64 architecture, compilers, firmware, operating systems, linux kernel, filesystems/storage, device drivers, performance tuning, networking, tools, tests, virtualization, platform libraries, etc.
- Knowledge of the Android platform.

As a member of the Android Systems team, you will pioneer, develop and build out our footprint in consumer hardware/software. You will contribute to the core of Android. You will work on variety of open source projects including the Linux kernel and build the future of Android together with our large partner ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Work on core system components including Memory Management, Scheduling, Power, Storage, Virtualization, Networking.
- Scale development across a growing number of verticals (Wear, Auto, TV, Large Screen, etc.).
- Create and maintain a reliable, secure and robust foundation for the Android software ecosystem.
- Create and ship generic kernel image for devices.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
