The Network Repair Engineering team operates one of the most reliable, core networks using a highly automated repair framework embedded in its systems and processes. Its strategy is centered on making automation and technology a force multiplier for Google Network Operations.
The team combines global core network engineering with software development to build solutions and introduce technologies that significantly improve network reliability and reduce operational costs.
Responsibilities
- Automate the global core network repair lifecycle to minimize human intervention, thereby reducing mean time to repair (MTTR), human error, and operational costs.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to innovate and deliver repair-focused systems while leveraging and consolidating existing automation infrastructures.
- Lead the adoption and operationalization of new core network technologies to support repair evolution and utilize next-generation features like spectrum efficiency and lower cost per byte.
- Support and maintain NRE software services to ensure the ongoing performance and reliability of the network repair framework.
- Provide technical consultation on setting requirements and defining the design for software applications specifically related to network repair.
