Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with full stack development, with back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience in working on multiple of the following: cloud computing, distributed systems, microservice, security.
- Experience with open source build systems, tooling and infrastructure.
- Experience with traditional Google Production or Google Cloud.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering a quality notebook experience and building the foundational infrastructure for Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) agents. You will enhance Vertex AI Notebooks, including Workbench and Colab Enterprise, as you collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will have experience in languages like Java, Golang, Typescript, or Python, and a background in cloud computing, distributed systems, or microservices.The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.Responsibilities
- Design and implement developer tools and platforms for customers of Vertex AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop the technical goal and roadmap for the team.
- Work with the customers to improve user experience.
- Communicate across teams, drive alignment with product team and client teams.
- Balance product thinking, development, and delivery.
