Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. As a Policy Specialist, you will be a thought leader on regional content moderation issues, and create policies that balance compliance with local law, user expression, and public interest. You will manage removal requests from government stakeholders and users while gaining insights in areas such as defamation, data protection, and privacy. You will manage content operations to ensure timeliness and quality. You will collaborate with stakeholders including public policy, product policy, legal, and enforcement teams that collaborate on policy issues affecting Google and its users. You will develop policies for new content moderation legislation. You will be a team player and will possess leadership, communication, project management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, and be able to navigate ambiguity and use your integrity to make balanced decisions.
