The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize Embedded or Android framework components and system software that enable advanced AI-powered features.
- Develop solutions that span API design, Android framework modifications, system services, Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) interfaces, and native libraries (C/C++).
- Advocate product excellence for best practices in software engineering, particularly in the context of on-device ML and embedded systems.
- Build and own critical software modules integral to the team's mission.
- Produce clear, comprehensive, and helpful technical documentation for internal teams, clients, and automotive partners, facilitating seamless integration and understanding of the AI/ML capabilities you help build.
