Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in networking technologies/concepts such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), internet routing technologies or router/switch telemetry.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++, Java, Python or Go, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience in debugging complex, distributed software systems.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Software Defined Network system and its components, other software systems, network infrastructure design and features to keep the systems running smoothly. You will partner closely with network product, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and deployment teams collecting feedback and monitoring performance to ensure designs and solutions are safe and efficient, and will make continual improvements to ensure Google’s network infrastructure meets the needs of customers.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. - Participate in the development of software and networking solutions that improve the velocity, performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of Google network systems across various engineering teams.
- Drive innovation and create requirements and develop designs for new networking product ideas, process improvements, technology velocity, higher systems performance, and cost reductions across organizational boundaries.
- Own the quantifiable analysis of measurements or data and capacity forecast models for making Google networks more scalable, efficient, and deliver a predictable user experience.
- Evaluate inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems, and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
- Own resolution for software, hardware, and other network and system problems by determining and recommending appropriate solutions in partnership with other engineering teams.
