We are seeking a motivated Android Software Engineer to join our Fitbit Activity Coaching team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and enhancing features within the Fitbit Android application that provide personalized coaching and insights to help users lead healthier lives. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to build high-quality, user-centric mobile experiences. You will have experience in Android development (i.e., Kotlin or Java), a passion for mobile technology, and a desire to contribute to features that have a direct impact on user well-being

As an Android Software Engineer on the Fitbit Activity Coaching team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining features for the Fitbit Android application.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Designing, developing, and testing new user-facing features for activity tracking, goal setting, and personalized coaching within the Fitbit Android app.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested Kotlin and Java code, following Android best practices and Fitbit's coding standards.
  • Contributing to technical design discussions and architectural decisions for new features and system improvements. Working with on-device data and algorithms to deliver real-time feedback and personalized insights to users.
