About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The People Experience (PX) organization delivers personalized end-to-end global processes that delight applicants and Googlers, covering the entire employee lifecycle from hire to retire. The Excellence team within People Experience is an end-to-end enablement team for all HR services. Its remit includes overall service strategy, process and program design, supplier strategy, tools, and technology strategy for People Operations. Our work enables Recruiters, Support Operations, People Consultants, and Market HR to deliver excellent experiences to applicants and Googlers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive designated global payroll program outcomes, managing project tasks (risk, communication, planning), developing end-to-end plans, and adjusting to meet goals.
  • Design and implement payroll process and program improvements considering global needs and local variances, advising partners on risks, dependencies, timing, and technology.
  • Serve as the payroll program management subject matter expert, applying Google-wide processes and best practices.
  • Manage ambiguous payroll programs by engaging stakeholders, defining and streamlining processes, and organizing tasks into clear objectives.
  • Establish and leverage key payroll program metrics to drive results and provide data-driven strategic recommendations. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand problems, define goals, obtain deliverables, and discuss cross-functional program impact on payroll.
