We develop tools, frameworks, and release processes that empower the GCE Control Plane to efficiently develop and release high quality software.

Our mission is to improve the reliability of GCE services and decrease time to ship new features to customers.

GCE Control Plane manages all of google compute offerings and is in the critical path for releasing new features for 300+ engineers across 15+ teams globally.

We are expanding the engineering productivity role to scale its support to critical reliability efforts to accelerate developer engineering productivity and improve product reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain integrated tooling and core infrastructure that empowers GCE engineers to rapidly develop and validate changes before they reach staging.
  • Partner with development teams to support a variety of workflows using frameworks such as BCT (Big Cluster Test), GCE Dev Clusters, and the Munchkin hermetic testing environment.
  • Prioritize the developer experience by maintaining a reliable, efficient, and high-performing platform.
  • Promote operational excellence by implementing robust monitoring and automation.
  • Shape the strategic roadmap of the platform by applying Google's proprietary technology to solve the evolving requirements of GCE development.
