The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical authority for the GPU software stack, defining the long-term technical roadmap for GPU drivers and their integration into the broader Android graphics subsystem.
- Maintain a significant code contribution footprint, author critical driver components, and prototype high-risk architectural changes.
- Lead parts of the design and optimization of the end-to-end graphics pipeline, ensuring seamless coordination between clients, the GPU driver, the compositor, display engine, etc.
- Partner with SoC architects and Android platform leads to influence future hardware requirements and OS-level graphics primitives.
- Advise Google’s executive leadership on the engaged landscape of mobile GPUs and identify strategic opportunities for breakthrough performance or efficiency.
