Job Title: Database System EngineerDXC Technology is looking for a Database System Engineer to join our ITO organization.The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and controlling infrastructure using DXC best practices. Reporting to the Italy Cloud & Platform organization, the System Engineer will apply their knowledge to solve complex business issues by collaborating with architects, infrastructure engineers, and developers to identify areas for improvement.Requirements:Strong and solid background as a System Administrator.Deep knowledge of Oracle RAC, Exadata, ZDLRA, Data Guard, ZFS Oracle Appliance, Vertica, and MongoDB. Experience with MySQL Cluster Architecture (using open source software such as Percona XtraDB) and PostgreSQL with Pgpool Architecture.Practical experience with Actifio Oracle Data Virtualization.Thorough understanding of Database Backup and Restore (RMAN) with practical experience.Ability to detect and resolve DB performance issues and implement solutions.At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer managing monitoring and logging activities, especially in Linux environments, with languages such as Java, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Understanding of Windows, Linux, Unix, Networking, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load balancers, and other infrastructure components.Education and Certifications:High School Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.Skills in business problem solving, critical thinking, and information analysis.Certifications in one or more of the following are appreciated: Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g & 12c; MySQL (release 3.23 to 8); MS-SQL Server (release 2000 to 2016); PostgreSQL (release 11 to 12).Location: Rome with remote work possibilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
