JOB OBJECTIVES
To support the growth of the Finance department, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive experienced Accountant to be based in Brussels.
This role will involve overseeing the full scope of accounting processes for our Belgian operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with accounting software and a commitment to accuracy in financial operations.
SAGE being the accounting ERP used by the group, the candidate will go through a training program to get up to speed with this software.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
Under supervision of the Chief Accountant and according to local and group procedures and deadlines:
- Management of accounting from A to Z for several entities (AP/AR, GL, bank statements, intercompany transactions, asset depreciations, etc.)
- Daily accounting, preparing payments, and cash forecasts
- Monthly & annual closings
- Group and local reporting & intercompany reconciliations
- VAT & tax declarations
- Issue the customer invoice, verifying the SPV for e-invoices, and monitor the collection process
- Compliance with local financial and accounting regulation and continuous regulatory watch
- Collaborate with other departments within the company or within the group to develop, improve or streamline procedures and work processes
- Support the Chief Accountant in the preparation of various financial reports and ad-hoc analyses
- Work closely with group IT for the ad-hoc upgrades
REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills
- Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (ideally multinational corporate environment)
- In-depth knowledge of local accounting standards and tax legislation
- Solid understanding of financial accounting processes
- Experience in accounting software and financial systems (a previous experience with SAGE software is an additional asset but is not mandatory)
- Advanced IT proficiency, especially in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word, with a knack for quickly learning new software and systems
- Fluency in English and either in French or Dutch
