As the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components for complex projects, such as FPSO and FLNG facilities. Drawing upon your extensive experience and technical expertise, you will provide strategic direction, mentorship, and technical leadership to the engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet project objectives and industry standards.
The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in the field of Electrical Engineering & Design, and provide strategic focus in the Concept Engineering for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects being bid in the offshore area. This will include FPSO or FLNG facilities as well as other Fixed and Floating platforms/facilities
To lead and coordinate all project electrical engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design, including but not limited to the preparation of specifications, selection of suppliers, review of vendor data, testing, development and maintenance of the electrical database, etc.
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects, clients, and regulatory authorities, to understand project requirements, assess technical feasibility, and develop innovative solutions. Liaison with other disciplines on packages and support the construction site team during installation and commissioning phase.
Ensure that all electrical engineering & design activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the engineering team, setting standards for design excellence, best practices, and quality assurance, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Utilize advanced CAD software and other design tools to create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and making revisions as necessary.
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange to enhance the collective expertise of the engineering team.
To keep abreast of relevant developments in electrical engineering with respect to the offshore industry in general and the company''s business in particular.
Conduct technical analyses, simulations, and evaluations to assess the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical systems and components, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures as needed.
Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and development, and ensuring knowledge transfer and succession planning within the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and suppliers, to ensure successful project execution, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex design projects from conception to completion.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other design tools used in electrical engineering.
In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and practices, with expertise in power systems, control systems, and instrumentation.
Extensive knowledge of industry standards, industry codes and practices related to offshore engineering and electrical design as well an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving.
Strong understanding of offshore industry terminology, concepts, and practices.
Proven track record of success in developing and performing Topsides Electrical Design and Conceptual / Feasibility Studies during pre-FEED/FEED or tender stage. Prior experience with FPSO or FLNG design development and/or en
