The buyer/contract management service:
Manages procurement files fully autonomously from request for quotation to award (sending, selection, negotiation, etc.) and therefore has an important responsibility in the choice of contractor and the agreed contract terms.
Adds value at tactical and strategic levels by drafting and executing a structured and (innovative) project procurement strategy in line with the existing procurement policy.
Invests in a thorough understanding of the needs of internal customers, applicable market dynamics, and its challenges and opportunities, with a focus on innovation and technical content knowledge.
Contributes to product strategy and market analysis.
Contributes to supplier management and maintains positive long-term relationships with key contractors. Focus is on risks, threats, and also opportunities. Guides improvement trajectories with contractors where necessary.
Is involved in the phase prior to the request for quotation for important projects.
Leads several MFTs (multi-functional teams) or working groups in the field aimed at creating impact or co-creating the future.
Follows up on projects in execution (from a commercialcontractual perspective). This includes following up and negotiating additional costs, ensuring contractual conditions are met (quality, schedule, safety, etc.). This requires on-site (construction site) visits.
Builds bridges with suppliers to achieve our energy transition goals. This is done in close collaboration with the Supplier Manager.
Aligns with counterparts at Berlin to share insights.
Shares your market and category knowledge when negotiating contractual terms.
Additional Requirements:
You hold a Masters degree in a technical or commercial field or have a technical economic background through experience.
Minimum 3 years of relevant professional procurement experience demonstrating maturity, vision, and approach, driven by a critical mindset, autonomy, and ambition.
As we place great importance on the team fit within WORKS, this will be a crucial factor.
For this service, regular on-site presence and thus travel (within Belgium) is important.
