ESA is recruiting Head of IT who combines a strategicmind with a hands-on and operational approach. The right candidatewill have a strong IT background and a proven capacity tocommunicate efficiently clients at all levels across theorganisation. The Administration Department is a strategic internalpartner that offers vital support across multiple areas, includingFinance, Human Resources (HR), and Information and CommunicationTechnology. By delivering robust administrative management andservices, the department enhances the working environment,promoting efficiency and collaboration, and acts as the enablingpartner in the organisation. The services provided are designed toalign with the organization''s goals, ensuring that all operationalfacets are managed proficiently and securely. Within theAdministration Department the IT team is responsible for thestrategy, planning, procurement, implementation, and maintenance ofthe complete IT infrastructure of the Authority. They manageday-to-day operations of ESA''s Document Management System (Gopro)and other IT systems, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance ofIT infrastructure. Additionally, the IT team supports alldepartments by monitoring associated working routines and assistingin inspections in the field of competition, involving forensic IT.The Head of IT plays a pivotal role in ESA in leading the IT teamwithin the Administration Department, ensuring the smooth operationand maintenance of IT infrastructure with a particular attention toGopro. This role involves strategic planning, procurement,implementation, and day-to-day management of IT services to enhanceefficiency and collaboration across the organization. Additionally,the Head of IT will spearhead the digitalisation process andinitiate digital tools to improve working methods andcommunication, identifies areas for IT improvement, and manages thedaily activities and projects of the IT team. The Head of IT alsoensures robust IT security, particularly in the area of cyber. Mainresponsibilities Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignmentwith the organisation''s overall objectives Lead and manage the ITteam, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovationManage the organisation''s IT infrastructure, including Hardware,software, networks, cloud environments (Azure) and data centresEnsure high levels of availability, functionality, and security ofIT systems Oversee IT projects from conception to completion,ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meetquality standards Coordinate with other departments to ensure ITprojects align with organisational needs Manage relationships withkey suppliers and service providers Collaborate with internalstakeholders to understand and address their IT needs Stay abreastof emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation anddigitalisation within the organisation Promote a culture ofcontinuous improvement in IT services and processes Perform anyother related duty as assigned Essential requirements Universitydegree in field of Information Technology, computer sciences,information science, or a related field Minimum 8 years'' relevantprofessional experience, including proven management experience, inthe private or the public sector Experience working with networkingHardware, switches, access points or similar Experience workingwith server Hardware Working knowledge with infrastructure based onstandard Microsoft 365 products, including Azure, Active Directory,Windows 11, Exchange Server, Microsoft Intune and Apple BusinessManager MDM, SQL Server, PaloAlto, Cohesity and CrowdstrikeExcellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal andcommunication skills Initiative and the ability to work bothindependently and in a team in an international environmentCertifications in relevant Microsoft Solutions. Certification inrelevant project management tools Excellent command of written andspoken English (ESA''s working language) and the ability to draftdocuments in a clear and concise manner Desirable requirements:Experience in an international organisation or nationaladministration Experience in IT project management Experience in ITforensic analysis Good understanding of Norwegian, Icelandic orGerman (the EEA EFTA languages), ad/or good understanding of Frenchand/or Dutch (the host country languages) Knowledge and experienceworking with Aruba solutions, Nutanix and Acropolis Reporting andcollaboration: The incumbent reports to Director, Administrationand works closely with the Deputy Director, Administration and Headof Finance and Head of HR.
