**Position Location**: Washington, DC strongly preferredThe Center for Popular Democracy (CPD, c3) and CPD Action (c4) are a national network of 43 community-based organizations in 30 states that build organizing power to transform the local, state and national policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community organizing groups and progressive labor unions nationwide.We seek an experienced and energetic professional to join our Education Justice program and lead our work supporting campaigns to win, implement, and monitor ambitious community schools programs a core component of our affirmative vision for quality public education for all. This position will focus on providing technical support (research, best practices, policy design, etc.) to local partners focused on community school efforts. She/he will keep up to date with latest research, practice and implementation work in the field and build relationships and collaborate with key providers, coalitions, and other community school technical assistance providers such as: National Center for Community Schools, Coalition for Community Schools, Communities in Schools as well as local and regional bodies, individual exemplar schools and school districts. She/he will produce regular reports documenting this research and best practices.A strong candidate will have significant experience in community schools technical assistance and policy work as well as working with community-based or labor organizations.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Community Schools Support Coordinator will report to the Director of Education. The Community Schools Technical Assistance Manager is responsible for the overall success and growth of the Technical Assistance component of community schools portfolio of work. Major responsibilities include:- Develop and drive community schools implementation, which includes providing technical assistance for partners and coalitions moving community schools.- Stay up to date with and build relationships with other technical assistance providers and researchers.- Produce regular reports and other documentation for the field and policy staff on best practices.Job RequirementsA demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low-and moderate income families- At least 5 years experience in community school technical assistance- A strong network and relationships with leaders within community school movement- Experience working across departments or teams within an organization- Experience managing technical assistance projects- Success as an independent, self-motivated and strong leader who is able to drive projects and programs to completion in a fast-paced environment- Ability to work within a coalition of diverse organizations and partners- Experience working in diverse communities and with grassroots organizations- Excellent writing and communication skills- Results-focused and organized- Willing to have significant travel schedule.Position will be based in Washington, DC.
