We are currently looking for a Senior Cargo UW for our Marine department. You will spend the majority of your time driving underwriting decisions, actively contributing to business development activities and liaising with customers and brokers. You will be a senior member in and role mode to the French Marine team where you act as point of contact for junior members in the team. You have strong analytical, relationship management and communication skills. Contributing to the creation of segment and local business development plans which identify existing and regular flow of new business opportunities. Ensuring an effective relationship with Underwriting and Commercial colleagues and other stakeholders. Accessing and applying available UW Tools, Rating Engines, Protocols and technical insights in order to best satisfy the needs of clients and brokers by providing tailored insurance solutions. Promptly managing non-standard, large and/or complex cases and if outside of licence escalating to the relevant Business Lead and work with them to deliver an outstanding service to the broker/client. Accessing senior direction and support as appropriate. Providing guidance and coaching to less qualified/experienced colleagues where appropriate. Ensuring the Underwriting Assistant Team the OPS Team capture and record data in a timely and accurate fashion. Following up on timely policy documentation issuing by liaising with the relevant (internal or external) departments. You have a Bachelor and/or Master degree and solid experience in Marine Underwriting accompanied with vast technical UW capabilities and insights that you can articulate clearly and concisely in the UW (referral) process. You are a team player and are seen as a role model by peers and more junior staff. Your English is fluent as well as your French and have strong commercial skills.
