Energy Dome is the owner and developer of CO2 Batterytechnology, a ground-breaking innovation which uses carbon dioxidein a closed loop thermodynamic process to provide efficient,affordable long duration energy storage (LDES) for intermittentrenewables - the key to enabling decarbonization of the globalpower system. The CO2 Battery is already proven in operation atEnergy Domes MW-scale demonstration project in Sardinia, Italy,and the company is expanding rapidly with first full-scale(20MW/200MWh) commercial projects already under construction orawarded in Italy, the United States, and India. The company has arobust pipeline in USA, EU, UKm Australia, Chile, and other keyLDES markets. The CO2 Battery is a standardized, modular productwhich uses off-the-shelf industrial components withwell-established, global supply chains, enabling Energy Dome torapidly scale-up and accelerate widespread adoption of thetechnology in key global markets. Energy Dome offers the CO2Battery to the market both as a technology supplier (OriginalEquipment Manufacturer) and under an energy storage-as-a-serviceor Build-Own-Operate (BOO) business model. The BOO arm isexperiencing significant growth with projects moving into operationphase, as well as a significant backlog of projects in developmentand under contracting. This key service line will cater tocustomers that prefer not to own and operate CO2 Batteriesthemselves, but prefer to enter into long term capacity offtakeagreements with Energy Dome. We are now looking for a: skilled andcommercially minded Financial Modeller with 35 years of experienceto join our Build Own and Operate / Infra team. You will beresponsible for developing and maintaining detailed financialmodels for grid-scale long duration energy storage projects,supporting investment decisions, commercial structuring, andproject delivery across Europe and international markets. This isan exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of the globalenergy transition, supporting the deployment of flexible,low-carbon proprietary technology that underpins renewableintegration and grid stability. Location: We welcome applicationsfrom across Europe; however, full relocation to our headquarters inMilan is a requirement for the role. Key Responsibilities: Build,manage, and audit project finance models for utility-scale LDESproject across multiple geographies. Incorporate diverse revenuemodels, including merchant trading (arbitrage, ancillary services),capacity mechanisms, and contracted revenues (e.g. tollingagreements). Support investment evaluations, project structuring,joint ventures, and fundraising activities (equity and/or debt). Work closely with internal teams (development, commercial, legal,and technical) to ensure accurate and up-to-date model inputs. Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and downside analysis to assessfinancial robustness under different market and regulatoryconditions. Assist in the preparation of investment committeepapers, financial presentations, and due diligence documentation. Monitor live assets and portfolios by updating models withoperational data, market developments, and strategic reforecasts.Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor''s degree inFinance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. (Postgraduatequalification or CFA/ACA is advantageous.) 35 years of financialmodelling experience in energy infrastructure, with a focus onrenewable energy or energy storage assets. Understanding ofenergy storage revenue streams in liberalised power markets (e.g.,trading, grid services, capacity remuneration). Advanced Excelmodelling skills, with experience building structured, flexiblemodels from the ground up. Commercial understanding of projectlifecycle risks, grid interconnection, and market entry strategiesin various jurisdictions. Excellent communication andpresentation skills; comfortable working with senior stakeholdersand cross-border teams. Ability to manage multiple workstreamsacross varying regulatory and market environments. PreferredQualifications: Direct experience with energy storage projects inEuropean or global markets (e.g., Spain, Germany, Italy, US,Australia). Familiarity with local market mechanisms, balancingservices, and trading platforms is a plus. Experience supportingM&A processes, project finance, or structured transactions. Exposure to financial model audit practices and tools such as VBA,Python, or Power BI is beneficial.
