Position Summary:
The Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Specialist is responsible for providing real-time technical support and operational oversight for the A320neo and A330neo fleets. The role ensures aircraft airworthiness, dispatch reliability, and regulatory compliance by coordinating and controlling unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical recovery actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the operational status of A320neo and A330neo fleets to ensure continued airworthiness and minimize aircraft on ground (AOG) events.
- Provide 24/7 technical support and guidance to line maintenance and flight crews for defect troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, logistics, and line maintenance teams to support timely aircraft recovery and return to service.
- Evaluate pilot reports (PIREPs) and maintenance logs (MEL/CDL/NEF), and issue corrective action instructions in compliance with OEM and regulatory requirements.
- Authorize or coordinate maintenance deferrals (MELs), ensuring proper application and tracking in accordance with regulations and company policies.
- Initiate and control AOG recovery efforts, including parts sourcing, maintenance team deployment, and vendor coordination.
- Utilize maintenance tracking systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, or equivalent) to manage aircraft technical data, work orders, and maintenance events.
- Act as point-of-contact for technical issues during irregular operations, coordinating with flight operations, dispatch, and other relevant departments.
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness directives (ADs), service bulletins (SBs), and engineering orders (EOs).
- Support reliability improvement initiatives by providing trend analysis and feedback on repetitive or chronic issues.
- Participate in shift handovers, ensuring accurate and complete communication of open items and ongoing actions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Certifications: EASA Part-66 B1/B2 license or FAA A&P (preferred); valid A320neo and/or A330neo type ratings are a strong asset.
Experience:
- Minimum 35 years in aircraft maintenance, including MCC or technical support roles.
- Hands-on or engineering experience with A320neo and A330neo aircraft is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with applicable airworthiness regulations (EASA/FAA/ICAO).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to interpret aircraft manuals, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
- High proficiency in maintenance software systems and MS Office tools.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination across departments and with external vendors.
- Decisive under pressure, with a strong sense of urgency and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation.
