About the Role
Join a leading player in the space systems sector, where you''ll help design and validate high-performance mechanical packaging solutions for advanced electronic equipment used in satellites and space missions.
Youll work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary engineering team that bridges the gap between mechanical design and electronic functionalityensuring optimal performance under extreme thermal and vibrational constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Design physical solutions (equipment packaging) that meet internal and external specifications including size, mass, vibration, thermal, and manufacturing constraints.
- Lead mechanical and thermal validations of designs.
- Conduct detailed analyses and sizing of equipment based on environmental constraints.
- Define modular breakdowns of equipment and follow up on technical development.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams, test teams, and project managers to ensure smooth product development.
- Support recurring product adaptations, anomaly handling, and obsolescence management.
- Review and validate environmental test reports.
Your Profile
- Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering (Industrial or Civil).
- 3 to 5 years of experience minimum, including at least one relevant project related to the responsibilities listed above.
- Solid grasp of thermal and vibration physics.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (or equivalent CAD software).
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools like Ansys for mechanical and thermal simulation.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and component-level design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, design-for-manufacturing principles, and industrial constraints.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, team spirit, and leadership in transversal activities.
- Comfortable with technical English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Leuven.
