**Freelance Contract** Job Summary: We are seeking a Hardware Engineer with expertise in electrical design and compliance with Belgian regulations to join our team in the nuclear sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cable calculations, electrical cabinet design, and electrical drawings. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical hardware for nuclear applications, ensuring compliance with Belgian and European regulations. Perform cable calculations and define electrical protection settings. Create, review, and update electrical drawings and schematics for electrical cabinets and other components. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Conduct feasibility studies, technical analyses, and risk assessments related to electrical designs. Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Maintain documentation and provide technical support for audits and regulatory reviews. Required Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. Knowledge of Belgian electrical regulations and standards, including RGIE/AREI and nuclear safety guidelines. Experience in cable sizing, short-circuit calculations, and load analysis. Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, See Electrical). Hands-on experience in designing and assembling electrical cabinets. Familiarity with nuclear industry safety protocols is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team in a high-security environment. Fluent in Dutch is a MUST.
