We are seeking a Business Developer in the Category Transport based in Milan, responsible for securing transport capacities and developing the future of transportation in Category Land. Your role will involve building long-term relationships with partners, moving goods efficiently, and contributing to IKEAs development goals with a focus on sustainability, performance, safety, costs, and quality.With your entrepreneurship, courage, and motivation to create change, along with your ability to deploy scalable innovations, you can help deliver the best results for IKEA customers.Your main tasks will include:Developing and maintaining relationships with Transport Service providers to ensure their performance.Challenging and supporting providers to improve and enhance competitiveness.Networking to explore alternative drive-trains, fuels, equipment, intermodal solutions, and other innovative options.Identifying business opportunities through projects and tenders, and introducing new potential for Transport service providers.Guiding providers with industry knowledge to meet IKEAs long-term goals.Keeping updated on transport market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory developments.Negotiating and signing contracts within the legal/regulatory framework.QualificationsKnowledge and experience required:At least 3 years of professional experience at a strategic level in purchasing and business development within Transport.Insight into the transport industry, market conditions, and macroeconomic trends.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trustful relationships.Proficiency in evaluating and building fact-based business cases.Ability to work as part of a team and drive development initiatives.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.At IKEA, every day presents new challenges.
