Were seeking an experienced Energy & NIS2 Subject Matter Expert to support cybersecurity and regulatory compliance within a critical infrastructure environment. This freelance role is ideal for someone with strong regulatory knowledge and hands-on experience across both IT and OT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the scope and applicability of NIS2 across systems, suppliers, etc.
- Review current security and resilience practices and advise on potential compliance gaps
- Provide strategic guidance to help impacted entities align with NIS2 obligations
- Customize efforts across diverse operational environments
- Prioritize compliance activities based on complexity and remediation timeframes
- Collaborate with legal and business information security teams to ensure executive awareness and readiness
Requirements:
- 10+ years in IT security, risk management, or compliance, ideally within the energy or critical infrastructure sector
- In-depth understanding of NIS/NIS2 and current cybersecurity regulations
- Familiarity with both IT and OT systems in complex enterprise environments
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and communication across organizational levels
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISM, CGRC) are an advantage
- Strong ability to simplify complex technical and legal concepts for a broad audience
- Comfortable working in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments with on-site engagement as needed
