Senior Internal Auditor
Location: The Hague, Netherlands
Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid Work Model
Salary: 80,000-90,000
Travel: 2-3 trips per year (typically 2-3 weeks each, including long-haul destinations)
A multinational manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its expanding audit team in The Hague. Reporting to the Global Head of Internal Audit, this role will primarily focus on financial audits across the organisation''s global operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and risk management in a complex international business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct risk-based financial audits, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
Assess financial processes, internal controls, and inventory management to identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing insights and recommendations to strengthen financial operations
Conduct fraud investigations and special audits where necessary
Present audit findings to senior management with clear, actionable recommendations
Requirements:
At least 5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in a manufacturing or tangible goods environment
A professional finance qualification (CPA, ACCA, RA) is preferred; CIA or CISA will also be considered
Strong knowledge of financial controls, inventory processes, and risk management frameworks
Fluent English; additional languages such as Dutch, German, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin are advantageous
Experience in fraud investigations is desirable
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a multinational team and engage with diverse business functions
