The Energy Management Junior Engineer inside Tecnimont Services Spa company, is part of the Energy Management team and supports the implementation of energy audits with the aim of analyzing, detecting, modeling the flows of primary energy (mechanical, electrical and thermal) in the energy systems in which he is called to operate ( commercial or industrial), also carrying out field inspections. The aim is to reduce consumption, improving energy efficiency. Reporting to the Energy Manager, he is responsible for collecting, cataloging and analyzing data from all the energy-intensive components of a system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting) and the sources of supply both in terms of contracts and provenance ( for example from renewable sources). Finally, he supports the Energy Management Team in analyzing data useful for achieving environmental and efficiency objectives (for example those related to decarb plans).
Main Activities Responsibilities
Following the guidelines of the Energy Manager, the Energy Efficiency Engineer performs the following tasks:
- Conduct energy inspections;
- Collect energy data to evaluate monthly and annual consumption in order to identify the electrical and thermal load baseline;
- Prepare reports and statistical data on energy consumption to be submitted to the Energy Manager;
- Analyze energy contracts in order to control the services provided;
- Populate a database of consumption areas, with a focus on the most significant ones in terms of characteristics, power input, date of installation, etc.;
- Monitor the digital energy management system
- Monitor a set of energy performance indicators (EnPI) to compare consumption between different plants;
- Participate as Energy Auditor in the drafting of energy audit in order to develop intervention actions;
- Collaborate in the evaluation and implementation of Best Available Technologies (BAT) to reduce energy consumption, environmental impact and costs
- Monitor the reference regulations, including access to incentives and tax relief;Collaborate in the definition of monitoring strategies and in the formulation of multi-year decarbonization plans.
- Analyzing data for achieving long-term environmental sustainability objectives (zero-emissions)
- Develop awareness programs to encourage careful and aware use of energy
The ideal candidate will have a solid academic background and a strong motivation to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the implemented solutions through reading and interpreting energy baselines;
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact;
- Support the analysis of energy data to identify opportunities for energy savings and carbon dioxide emissions reduction, also for the purpose of developing reports or energy audits.
Requirements:
- Degree in energy or environmental engineering;
- Knowledge of regulations and international standard on energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction;
- Knowledge of consumption monitoring systems and main communication buses (RS485, 4...20 mA, etc.);
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients;
- Fluent in English;
- Availability for short-term national and international travel.
