What Youll Do
As a Data Engineer at FuturWork, your role may vary by project but typically includes:
- Designing and developing robust data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Apache Spark
- Automating workflows with Apache Airflow and scheduling tools
- Managing ETL/ELT processes and handling large-scale structured and unstructured data
- Supporting on-prem to cloud migrations (primarily AWS)
- Integrating data from multiple sources and optimizing storage/compute for performance
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data applications
- Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data availability and reliability
- Ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards
Your Profile
Must-Have Skills
- Solid experience with Python and PySpark
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark
- Working knowledge of AWS data ecosystem (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, Redshift, etc.)
- Strong data modeling, transformation, and integration experience
- Comfortable translating business logic into scalable technical design
Bonus Points
- Experience in regulated environments (finance, insurance, energy)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Exposure to data lake, data warehouse, or streaming architectures
