In Nijmegen, there aretwo assembly lines for the largest trucks in the range: the BigTruck line and the Jumbo Truck line. The Nijmegen locationemploys over 750 people across three divisions: 400 inmanufacturing, 200 at the Big Truck Development Centre(Engineering), and over 150 in the After Market (after sales)organization.
FunctieomschrijvingTheDesign Engineer is responsible for defining functional requirementsand creating designs, including accompanying documentation, forquality improvements and optimizations of the existing productportfolio manufactured in Nijmegen. They will utilize design toolssuch as Siemens NX and a PLM system for designing truck componentsand releasing documentation. Work assignments are received from theCurrent Products Leader. The Design Engineer will define functionalrequirements and create the test plan. They will work closely withmanufacturing, procurement, service, testing, and systemsteams.
Responsibilities:
- Performfull-vehicle NVH analysis, including modal analysis, frequencyresponse analysis, and acoustic sensitivitystudies.
- Perform/ execute NVH testing perNorms, regulation and HY Test protocol.
- Leaddesign concept with NVH design principal (Design guide) to makesure that we have right isolator/ dampen component to have firsttime right truck.
- Develop engineeringconcepts for Assemblies/ Sub-assemblies for proper integration intruck frame.
- Develop component/ sub systemlevel requirements from truck/ System levelrequirements
- Analyze and interpret simulationresults to provide actionable insights for designimprovements.
- Collaborate with cross-functionalteams (Power train/ Hydraulic/Structure-Frame/ Cab & truckIntegrations teams) to integrate CAE findings into productdevelopment cycles.
Functie-eisen- B.S. or Master degree in MechanicalEngineering
- 5-10 years of working engineeringexperience on vehicle
- Knowledge and proficiencyin Vehicle Dynamics/ NVH (Noise, Vibration, andHarshness)
- Basic knowledge and proficiency insome or more of vehicle/automotive technology, manufacturingtechnology, design/test experience, test practices andprocedures.
- Basic proficiency of testingequipment for NVH and its usage.
