Operate valve and gates manually through local control centers as directed. Start, stop, and operate pumps, engines, and other equipment. Make routine rounds of assigned process areas and record operating data such as run times, chemical usage, flows, and other process information. Work with maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance functions so that equipment downtimes do not adversely impact the overall effuent quality and/or permit requirementsRequired SkillsOne-year experience in a water and/or wastewater treatment related area.Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal work orders or assignments.Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations with the use of a calculator.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Required ExperienceCompletion of high school or equivalent.Required to obtain and hold a valid Class 1 wastewater and/or Class A water treatment plant operator''''s license within 24 months of hire date.Must hold and maintain a valid CT driver''''s license
