NPI Test EngineerAFR is a leading provider of optical components and devices, designed for telecommunication, fiber lasers, data centers, autonomous vehicles, fiber sensors and bio-medical equipment applications. AFR designs and manufactures advanced and cost-effective passive components and modulators at our ISO 9001-certified and IO 14001-certified facilities. AFR is expanding its photonics business by establishing a new R&D center in San Donato Milanese fully committed to the development of a breakthrough technology based on Lithium Niobate on Insulator platform. We are now looking for aNPI Test Engineer to join our growing R&D team. You will have the opportunity to work with skillful and highly motivated engineers, bringing to production Lithium Niobate devices for telecom, datacom and sensing applications.Job Responsibilities:As NPI Test Engineer you lead the deployment of automated test solution for in-line and final test manufacturing of new photonic devices based on Lithium Niobate technology. Your early involvement in the development phase ensures smooth transition of new product test procedures and benches from R&D to Operations.You work together with the R&D, Operations, and Engineering teams, applying DFT concepts to drive logical and cost-effective testing strategies within all NPI projects, with particular focus on high frequency electro-optical modulators.You are responsible for the HW and SW optimization of automated test benches, starting from the generic test solutions developed by R&D; you are in charge of automated test equipment procurement and release to production.You determine the electro-optical test flow and pass-fail criteria to ensure high yields and the required test cycle times.You create update and release documentation to Production, including work instructions, equipment operating procedures, process KPI documentation, etc.You provide technical support and training to production personnel.Job Requirements:Masters degree in Optics, Electronics, Material Science, Physics or equivalent technical disciplineHands-on experience with automated test equipment for high frequency photonic or microelectronic devicesStrong knowledge of DC and RF electrical testing at wafer, chip, and module level. Knowledge of fiber alignment systems and active alignment techniques is recommended5+ year experience as New Product Introduction Engineer in photonics, microelectronics, or similar industry. Proven track record of NPI projects with effective resultsKnowledge of Python, NI Labview and Teststand is required.
