About the role
For the role of Head of Communications, the Institute is interested in hearing from professionals with a knack for communication, outstanding news and editorial judgement, strong media networks, and excellent writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing effective communication strategies for the institutes research activities
- Building and maintaining relations with the media
- Developing tools such as podcasts, social media, and events
- Procuring newsworthy and quality content for the website and managing the publishing process for the website
- Preparing communications materials such as press releases and pitching stories to journalists.
- Overseeing the public representation of BIG and acting as its chief spokesperson.
- At least 7 years of professional experience working either in the media or in (political) communications roles
- Strong editorial and communication skills and a proven ability to write and publish in English
- An intimate understanding of the news cycle and of how the media thinks
- Deep interest in geopolitics, current affairs, and European politics
- Command of French, German, and other EU languages will be an asset.
