Job Description
We are hiring a Senior RD formulation specialist within our European Surfactants RD center (Voreppe, FR). This role reports directly to the Technical Manager Agrochemicals Formulation.
As part of your missions, you will bring new and complementary expertise to a close-knit team to achieve economic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Commercial leads and RD Management to create accurate Statements of Work based on customer needs.
- Develop agricultural formulations and evaluate according to the protocol(s) outlined in each project.
- Conduct bibliographic research to find technical solutions for his/her research projects.
- Develop STEPAN sales by providing solutions to customers technical problems.
- Communicate with customers on technical progress.
- Collaborate effectively with STEPAN Company laboratories across the globe and ensure efficient two-way technology transfer.
- Share expertise within the RD laboratory and ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
- Manage technicians or interns as needed.

- Must have familiarity with developing agriculture formulation types such as: Suspension Concentrates (SC), Emulsifiable Concentrates (EC), Oil Dispersions (OD), Suspoemulsions (SE), Soluble Liquids (SL), Wettable Powders (WP), Water Dispersible Granules (WDG), Flowable Concentrates for Seed (FS) and Tank Mix Adjuvants (TMA).
- Familiarity with agriculture test methods from ASTM, CIPAC, and similar governing bodies.
- Effectively communicate with customers and convey technical information in a concise and understandable manner.
- Strong written communication skills to maintain records in an electronic notebook (ELN), prepare clear technical reports in a timely fashion and provide written updates/presentations as required by Statement of Work.
- Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new technologies (instrumentation, test methods, software, etc.).
- Demonstrate great autonomy in the development of RD studies, and have good time management skills to deliver inside the planned timeframe.
- Enjoy working at the bench.
Education Qualifications
- PhD, MSc or Chemistry engineering degree with a focus on formulation with at least 10 years of professional experience in a similar position in Ag industry (powder is a plus)
- Fluent in Frenc in English. Ideally proficient in French would be a plus. You demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
