The Coombe Hospital is one of the largest providers of women and newborn health care in the Republic of Ireland. We care for up to 10,000 pregnant women every year. In addition, over 1,000 newborns are admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Centre and over 8,000 adult surgical operations are performed. Skills and attributes Team Management Good interpersonal skills Planning and Organising Skills Description About the Coombe Hospital NCSL The Coombe Hospital National Cervical Screening Laboratory (NCSL), on the campus of The Coombe Hospital, is a national Centre of Excellence for cervical cancer screening in Ireland and dedicated to servicing the future needs of the Irish national cervical cancer screening programme. The new, state-of-the-art, bespoke laboratory is designed with the capacity to process the full national caseload and is intended to ultimately become CervicalChecks main provider of cervical screening laboratory services in Ireland. The NCSL houses the Coombes HPV, Cytology, and Histology departments, each with its own dedicated floor, designed with their needs and work practices in mind. The laboratory will also serve as the national base for training, education, and research purposes for the National Screening Services CervicalCheck screening programme. The NCSL is a laboratory that Coombe staff can be proud of, as a leading example for womens health provision, not only in Ireland, but at a global level.
