Safety Manager BE and Prevention Advisor Level 1 BRUCARGO & LIEGE
MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE
The Aviation Safety Manager BE and Prevention Advisor Level 1, develops and implements initiatives to promote and develop safety (aviation and occupational safety), ensures a sustainable and legal working environment in accordance with international, national & corporate requirements.
He/She ensures that all people working at WFS premises (employees, customers and third parties) can work in optimal conditions. He/she inspires and motivates others to maintain safe and healthy work practices, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance
- Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable safety regulations,.
- Keep documentation up to date and compliant with legal and WFS requirements, such as Safety Management Manuals
- Monitor performance, conducting audits/inspections related to occupational Health and Safety and aviation safety and take necessary corrective actions.
- Plan and monitor the implementation of the Integrated Management System policy internally but also with subcontractors and customers.
- Communicate actions to be implemented to improve performance.
- Maintain team dynamics, share best practices and knowledge, and contribute to achieving the group''s objectives.
- Conduct workstation analyses, with or without the collaboration of occupational medicine.
- Develop, based on workstation and risk analyses, a global prevention plan and an annual action plan. Consult with management and the Prevention and Protection at Work Committee (CPPT) on these matters.
- Participate in the CPPT and provide secretarial support. Draft opinions for the CPPT and provide required information in compliance with regulations.
- Prepare documents related to the use of protective equipment, present them to management and the CPPT, and raise awareness among internal and external employees on this subject.
- In collaboration with various departments, establish a list of hazardous substances and work with suppliers to explore options for improving safety when working with these substances.
Safety Management System/Aviation Safety
- Develop, implement and monitor SMS as per ICAO requirements
- Setting up and maintaining the WFS Integrated Management System and the administrative processing of the Management
- Attending and/or directing all kinds of meetings where topics related to the Health and Safety and Aviation Safety Management System are on the agenda.
- Follow-up of external customer audits and customer visits and setting up internal audits.
- Setting up various systems that apply in the air cargo sector in cooperation with other departments, including incident or occurrence registration and reporting.
- Ensure all activities are properly risk-assessed as part of a change management process
- Guides and promotes safe and sustainable work performance by developing standards, procedures and work instructions.
- Collaborate on the development of the internal emergency and evacuation plan and present it to management and the CPPT.
- Monitor HS performance
- Guide and promote safe and sustainable work performance by developing standards, procedures, and work instructions. Keep documentation up to date and in compliance with legal and WFS requirements.
- Lead incident/accident investigations. In the event of a serious incident, conduct an appropriate investigation, document, and report results and recommended action plans in accordance with relevant regulations and WFS requirements.
- Follow up on accidents/incidents with the management, labor inspection, CPPT, insurance ...
- Ensure the effectiveness of Health and Safety promotion.
- Organizing the weekly Safety Meeting and participating in the Station Meeting(s) on a monthly basis.
- Report all the safety incidents to the authorities (ECCAIRS)
- Participate in certain meetings of Air Cargo Belgium, Brussels Airport and Lige Airport.
Training and education
- Coordinate initiatives to identify, evaluate, design, and develop effective HS-related training programs and tools to meet business needs, and recommend changes to ensure compliance and/or improve efficiency.
- Define, develop, and implement educational campaigns, initiatives, and tools to ensure stakeholders understand and comply with various requirements (e.g., safe working practices, use of equipment, safe handling techniques, aviation safety, eco-driving, etc.).
