ESG Regulatory Expert (IFRS S1 S2, Basel, CSRD). Immediate Start.
We are looking for an experienced ESG Regulatory Expert (IFRS S1 S2, Basel, CSRD) to work with and provide guidance to our client in ensuring compliance with evolving ESG regulation. The client is based in Saudi Arabia, and this job is partly remote, split between Amsterdam and with travel to Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) required. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal or regulatory background and a comprehensive understanding of ESG frameworks, taxonomies, reporting standards, and global sustainability trends. This role will be critical in helping to support our ESG advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide actionable insights to clients on how to align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Monitor and interpret evolving ESG regulations and standards across jurisdictions, including the IFRS S1 and S2, Basel, CSRD, taxonomies, and other global frameworks.
- Lead the development and implementation of ESG compliance strategies, governance, policies, and frameworks tailored to client needs.
- Advise on ESG-related legal risks and opportunities, including corporate governance, climate-related disclosures, and supply chain due diligence.
- Conduct ESG regulatory gap analyses, audits, and impact assessments.
- Prepare and deliver thought leadership materials, including white papers, webinars, and workshops, to keep clients informed of ESG trends and implications.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and key stakeholders to ensure our business stays at the forefront of ESG developments.
- Helping to define and shape ESG related regulation.
- We are specifically hiring for a role working for a tier-1 Bank in both Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree/Masters in Law, Environmental Policy, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of global ESG regulatory frameworks and standards.
- An understanding of ESG Governance, Risk/scoring.
- A minimum of 2 years proven work experience in the ESG space.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex regulations and translate them into practical guidance.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully managing ESG compliance projects or advisory engagements.
- Professional certifications such as CFA ESG Investing, GARP Sustainability, Cambridge Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR), or similar are a plus.
