About the Job:

As an Application Architect for Yusen Logistics, your role will involve driving critical projects and building a modern integrated application landscape servicing our company''s customers.

You will be responsible for defining the European overall application architecture and designing and implementing effective solutions that meet the unique requirements of logistics operations.

Your primary focus will be on leveraging your expertise in architectural design to motivate and inspire the project delivery team. By creating and maintaining a roadmap of technical products, you will ensure that the solutions align with the overall application architecture roadmap of Yusen Logistics. In this role, you will play a vital role in driving the success of critical projects and services by providing architectural expertise, guiding the project delivery team, and ensuring the alignment of solutions with the logistics industry''s best practices and emerging technologies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES, ACTIVITIES and KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

Delivery:

• Identify gaps between the business processes and the IT application landscape and provide recommendations for resolving these gaps.
• Develop logical architecture designs (e.g. common data model) that outline the components and processes required to meet the business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Create detailed documentation outlining the architecture of the applications/solutions.
• Collaborate closely with external vendors and partners, ensuring their solutions meet the organization''s requirements.
• Apply a wide set of engineering disciplines independently, including planning, design, analysis, coding, testing, roll-out, and support of information systems architectures.

Customer

• Gain a deep understanding of the organization''s business needs and translate them into technology solutions that effectively address those needs.
• Demonstrate a strong drive to solve customer problems and take projects from ideation to deployment.
• Advocate and promote architectural best practices within the organization. Identify opportunities for standardizing product capabilities through reusability.
• Balance business and technology acumen, effectively articulating high-level technical solutions to address business problems. Tie solutions to program success criteria.

Systems/technology:

• Provide technical guidance to development teams, assisting them in creating high-quality and scalable solutions. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Partner with Infrastructure architects and the Security team to ensure alignment between application architecture and infrastructure architecture, while ensuring compliance with security guidelines.
• Stay up to date with industry technology trends and recommend technological improvements to improve/enhance the European Yusen application landscape.

Process governance:

• Create and maintain architecture and engineering standards and guidelines that promote consistency, quality and security across applications in the YLEU IT application landscape.
• Ensure that technical standards and principles are correctly employed in all technical initiatives, design and implementation.
• Assume accountability as the gatekeeper of the European IT application architecture.
