Responsibilities
- Emergency communication system dispatcher, receives emergency calls (police, fire, medical, hazmat, rescue, etc.) via telephone, TDD, radio, fire alarm system, computerized alarm system and face-to-face.
- Dispatches firefighting apparatus, ambulances, rescue equipment, first aid services, & police to situations within camp boundaries.
- Operates radio equipment in accordance with Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulations/local emergency procedures.
- Maintains logs of calls.
- Answers/screens all 911 emergency calls/personal telephone inquiries.
- Performs routine administrative/clerical duties.
- Maintains office files, compiles statistical data reports, charts, etc.
- Receives, sorts, routes incoming mail/correspondence and distributes.
- Uses standard computer programs/procedures to input or retrieve data.
Qualifications
- Program Specific Requirements:
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Certified Telecommunications I & II.
- Certified hazardous material awareness.
- Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher.
- Experience working with fire, medical, and military terminology.
- Understanding of affecting emergency plans, SOPs, and mutual aid agreements.
- Able to independently determine which processes, procedures, and methods to use to effectively dispatch emergency.
- Experienced with emergency dispatching.
