Job Summary:
Reporting to the Global Director Gatesolution BEM, the IT Business Engagement lead is responsible for supporting and executing gategroups IT strategy by assisting the business partners achieve the organizational outcomes. This role is the key business contact representing IT by promoting IT services, capabilities, supporting, and delivering overall IT services that meet the needs of the business. The successful candidate will serve as the business relationship link between the business and the extended IT teamsl for the purpose of business demand management, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. The IT Business Engagement lead will partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria following internal governance model. They will facilitate and be responsible for the demand intake process and the high-level planning and execution of business initiatives using technology. This role serves as a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of global IT standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the intake process, the implementation of IT solutions, and the successful introductions of projects and initiatives across the organization and with customers.
- Define and introduce a process for consolidating business roadmaps and demands such they can be costed, prioritized, presented for investment approval, scheduled and delivered.
- Collaborate with regional and country management to develop annual budgets for respective regional areas.
- Reinforce solution concepts based on ITs Toolbox and support business cases for new investments for all IT related topics.
- Accountable for ensuring that all involved IT teams conduct thorough analysis of business requirements and recommendations of solutions to meet business needs
- Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management.
- Act as the key escalation between IT and business across all functional IT areas and ensure all third party vendors are identified and managed.
- Possess a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.
- Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
- Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address internal and external customer needs.
- Partner with key staff members to create, oversee and complete strategic business and technology initiatives
- Collaborate with architecture, design, and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
- Collaborate with Project Management Office on the demand intake process.
- Effectively managing changing business priorities, and drive IT functions to deliver to increasing business demands.
- Understanding how IT supports the business priorities, and understand the service levels and service priorities that the business requires;
- Ensuring the business appreciates what IT service levels are realistic given the budgets available;
- Leading the negotiation and agreement of those levels with IT CoE and IT Operations;
- Monitoring and reporting on progress on IT service performance and issues in a clear, timely and meaningful way ;
- Acting as an escalation point and point of problem resolution on any IT issue in the event of critical service problems
- During the first 20 months of this role, the BEM lead will be predominantly focused on a major D 365 implementation for deSter, where he/she will be involved in the day-to-day techno-functional activities to ensure project success by supporting business partners, vendors and the extended IT teams.
Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple priorities based on changing business needs is essential.
- Must possess strong business acumen, business analytical skills and planning.
- Good knowledge of the customer organization.
- Commercial awareness and ability to represent business issues effectively to the IT community
Education:
- Bachelors degree or relevant work experience
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field not necessary but a plus.
Work Experience:
- 7-10 years of IT and business/industry work experience with a focus on business engagement or IT management.
- 5-10 years of working with business partners
