We are partnering with a leading international FMCG retailer, part of a prestigious UK-based global group, to appoint a Financial Controller for their Benelux operations based in Tilburg. The Opportunity
As Financial Controller - Benelux, you will be the financial lead for a high-performing region within this globally expanding retail group. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure financial integrity, drive strategic decision-making, and lead a team in a business known for its entrepreneurial spirit, operational excellence, and ambitious growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the financial control framework for Benelux, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Dutch GAAP, and group reporting standards.
- Deliver accurate and insightful management reporting, driving performance analysis and commercial decision-making.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, identifying risks and opportunities in a fast-paced retail/FMCG environment.
- Manage tax, audit, and statutory compliance, acting as the key liaison with external advisors and group finance.
- Optimise financial processes to enhance efficiency, controls, and business partnering capabilities.
- Develop and mentor a high-calibre finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Support strategic initiatives, including market expansion and operational improvements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with finalist stage studiers considered with a strong level of suitable work experience.
- Proven background in FMCG, retail, or a fast-moving multinational business - experience with inventory-heavy sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/Dutch GAAP) and experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred).
- Leadership capability - able to inspire teams, drive change, and operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Commercial mindset - comfortable engaging with non-finance stakeholders to influence business performance.
