Responsibilities:
Conducting and validating stability and structural calculations for:
- AIS (Air-Insulated Substation) foundation blocks
- Transformer locations and associated containment structures
- Fire and noise protection walls
- Oil collection systems (common or underground tanks)
- GIS building foundations and internal structures
- Steel structures (HV/MV gantries, equipment supports)
- HV pylon and mast foundations (shallow or deep)
Addressing complex and special cases, including underground substations, cable tunnels, or bespoke support systems.
Collaborating closely with internal designers and drafting teams to ensure structural calculations align with design intent and drawings.
Preparing comprehensive calculation notes and ensuring clarity and traceability in design philosophy.
- Reviewing subcontracted studies and design documents, providing clear feedback and ensuring the delivery of final, validated versions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Dutch and French (written and spoken) essential.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in structural and foundation engineering, with a strong grasp of soil mechanics and stability analysis.
- Comfortable working with structural design tools and software.
- Demonstrated ability to review and validate subcontractor designs and to liaise constructively with external engineering partners.
- Knowledge of relevant national and European standards for civil and structural works in energy or industrial infrastructure.
