The Trust, Security and Privacy and the Algorithms andComputational Mathematics Units of IIT-CNR (Pisa, Italy) arescouting for talented researchers. We are collecting expressions ofinterest for the following research topic: Design and developmentof innovative solutions to ensure secure, private and greencommunications, both intra and extra vehicles. IIT-CNR will open aformal call for a Researcher fellowship position. The scoutingprocess is intended to advertise the above topic in view of thecall. It is planned that IIT-CNR will formally open the positionshortly, aiming at starting the activities in March. Candidateprofile Ideal candidates should have obtained a master degree inComputer Science, Wireless Networking, Computer Engineering,Mathematics, Electronic engineering or closely related disciplines.Competences: a. Knowledge about cybersecurity mechanisms in theautomotive domain. b. Knowledge of intra-/inter-/extra-vehicularcommunication protocols and technologies. c. Knowledge ofdomain-specific safety and privacy standards and regulations. d.Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Python. e.Proficiency in the English language. Topic description Modern carsare equipped with a huge amount of electronic components whosefunctionality is managed at software level. For this reason, it isnecessary to guarantee not only hardware security but also softwaresecurity of such components. One of the objectives will thereforebe to guarantee secure software design and development (SSDLC),techniques and protocols at operating system level and tailored forintra- and extra-vehicular communication (V2V, V2I, V2X). Theactivities of this topic will be supported by PNRR SERICS Spoke 7SCAR -Securing the third millennium Cyber CARs project. The SCARproject aims at prototyping, verifying and validating innovativeand intelligent technologies for both Hardware and Softwaresecurity of modern cars in their ecosystem, while respectingcurrent standards, privacy rights and legal aspects.
