Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for precision and a strong grasp of German and English? Morrison Express is looking for a General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our European Finance team based near Geleen, The Netherlands.

What you''ll do:
As a key member of our finance team, youll support the German Accounting Manager across all areas of day-to-day financial operations, including:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable, General Ledger, Treasury, Financial Reporting, and Tax Compliance.
- Collaborate with 4 finance colleagues on daily transactions, reconciliations, and intercompany processes.
- Lead timely and accurate monthly closings and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with corporate deadlines.
- Maintain up-to-date account reconciliations and support preparation of statutory accounts in coordination with auditors.
- Support cash flow management and credit control to ensure operational continuity.
- Ensure correct margin allocations in collaboration with global accounting teams.
- Liaise with local authorities, banks, suppliers, and external advisors on financial and administrative matters.
- Provide backup support for AP and AR when needed.
What were looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in operational finance (closing, reporting, reconciliations)
- Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail
- Fluent in German and English (written & spoken)
- A true team player whos eager to learn and take initiative
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
- Hands-on experience with GL and understanding of AP/AR processes
- Knowledge of German accounting, VAT, tax, and/or payroll is a big plus
