We were meant to fly.The Cold Section Mechanical Design Engineer is the primary engineering responsible of the NPI execution of relevant mechanical design for the assigned components.In this role you will work within the Military Design Engineering section as Mechanical Design Engineer for the subjected important mechanical systems components and will interface Italian Military customer / Engine development partners (Rolls Royce and IHI) / Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Quality and Sourcing).Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesPrime engineering responsible for the components NPI execution through the Avio Aero NPI processPrime engineering support to the formal components developments ReviewsOwn the components design and development modifications to adopt key technologies and optimize the system designEstablish an efficient coordination of the design activities from different engineering organizationsProvide all required engineering support to the components prototypes definition and production to feed the development enginesProvide all required engineering support to the components/module engineering and certification tests definition, tests plan, tests rig design-procurement-setup, tests execution and component certification/module final certificationQualifications/RequirementsMasters degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited universityPrevious experience in mechanical design and baseline use of CAD tools (Unigraphix)Great accountability/collaboration & interpersonal/communication skillsTechnical Program management and execution/coordination skillsExternal technical relationship experienceGood execution/coordination skillsItalian and English fluent knowledgeWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsPrevious hardware ownership experienceExperience in aero-engines component or module designPrevious experience in cost and value engineeringAdvanced Unigraphics CAD toolWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
