ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Junior Laser& Optical Designer to join our Research & DevelopmentDepartment, specifically within the Optical & Laser DesignTeam. The role will involve leading experimental activities focusedon the development of new products, in collaboration with otherR&D Teams. These activities aim to identify and implementoptimal solutions for the development of innovative laser sourcesand systems, including their characterization and qualification.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Analyze, experiment and conduct technicalfeasibility studies on laser and optical systems. - Verify andvalidate components, subsystems, and/or laser systems. - Developsolutions under the supervision of senior team members. - Drafttechnical documentation related to components, subsystems, and/orlaser systems. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR To successfully carry out therequired activities, we are seeking candidates with: - Mastersdegree in physics or engineering physics - Strong inclination forexperimental activities - Some experience (e.g., academic orinternship) in experimental research involving optics or lasersources - Good knowledge of the English language - Solidtheoretical background on the operating principles of majorsolid-state and fiber lasers, as well as optics, includinganisotropic and non-linear media - Previous experience withoptoelectronic sensors and measurement instruments, includingoscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, photodiodes,cameras, thermal cameras, data loggers, temperature probes, currentprobes etc. - Preferred knowledge and experience with software formathematical simulations of optical systems (Zemax, LasCad, Comsol,MATLAB) - Preferred knowledge and experience with software forautomated testing (LABVIEW - National Instruments) - Knowledge ofoptical fibers is a plus - Good organizational skills - Strongreporting skills Passionate about optics and laser technology?Apply now!
