The Project Manager, Medical Writing (PM) is the main point of contact for clients at TransPerfect. The PM will be responsible for day to day project management and oversight of medical writing projects, and will be in daily and regular contact with clients.
The PM will also be responsible for keeping up-to-date SOPs regarding medical writing processes. The PM will be required to meet all client timelines and work in conjunction with the medical writing manager, medical writers, and account managers, and will be accountable for the success of all medical writing projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all elements of medical writing projects, and set and fulfill client expectations
- Oversee project budgets and monitor costs against Client Budget and Statement of Work
- Monitor and communicate project progress, ensure strict adherence to deadlines and budgets, and ultimately produce high quality deliverables
- Partner with medical writing vendor manager to build pool of medical writing resources, and weigh in on resource gaps and growth markets
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client contacts
- Respond to client requests for new project initiatives; collaborate with various departments to assess the scope of work and produce cost estimates
- Grow existing client relationships through service and technology lead development
- Take a proactive role in learning about clients industry and business needs and company culture, educating the project team, identifying new business opportunities, and providing a high level of service
- Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum Masters Degree or PhD PharmD or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the Life Sciences industry (pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO experience preferred)
- Experience in customer service
- Medical information experience preferred
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of clinical development phases and processes
- Superior written and spoken communication skills in English
- Exceptional problem solving/critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
