Key activities and responsibilities:
The Metallurgy & Welding Technology Senior Engineer has the following main responsibilities:
- Begin to apply international codes and standards of reference for materials of construction and related fabrication for the different industry of the company;
- Participate to technical support on metallurgical issues during design, procurement, testing and fabrication;
- Review client specifications for further sharing with the other Specialist involved in the tasks and collaborate to the preparation of engineering and fabrication specifications, based on client requirements and company standards;
- Review welding and heat treatments procedures, material specifications, mill test reports, equipment specifications and data sheets, in compliance with project requirements;
- Participate in solving issues on metallurgy, materials, testing and welding arising from clients, suppliers and contractors either in workshop or at site, during plant fabrication;
- Participate to the technical training and exchange experiences and lesson learnt with colleagues of the Group;
- Keep him/herself up-to-date about the technical specific improvement of the discipline. Keep him/herself up-to-date about the technical specific improvement of the discipline.
- Cooperate with Piping Material Specialist for the correct selection of the material to be used in connection with the equipment.
Personal Attributes:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Material Engineering;
- Minimum 7 years in Metallurgical and Welding engineering, either in EPC company or in Manufacturing companies, with knowledge of material selection and corrosion mitigation for piping, equipment, steel structures, etc., for application in petrochemical, power and oil & gas industry;
- Experience in Pressure Vessel and heat Exchanger calculation and mechanical data sheet preparation is a plus;
- Fluent English speaker and writer;
- Availability to travel for short period in Italy and abroad.
