Asset Delivery is the Fluxys division responsible for developing and building decarbonisation infrastructure. This includes solutions for transporting and importing clean gas molecules, such as hydrogen, captured carbon and natural gas.

The Asset Delivery division is looking for a Technical Manager (m/f/x) for its Technical Development Backbones department at our headquarters in Brussels, to shape and implement innovative projects.

Your mission

As Technical Manager at the Fluxys Asset Delivery division''s Technical Development Backbones department, it will be your job to shape and develop new technical projects. Together with your business development and commercial colleagues, you will design sustainable infrastructure as a technical response to new business requirements. Asset Delivery Technical Development Backbones works both autonomously and in partnerships, in Belgium and across Europe.

Asset Delivery Technical Development Backbones focuses on the energy transition and in that context mainly works with products such as hydrogen, carbon dioxide, other sustainable energy carriers and natural gas. Your impact is that you create value for European industry, Fluxys and all its stakeholders.

You will report to the Head of Technical Management Backbones at Asset Delivery.

Your responsibilities

Technical development of infrastructure

• Shaping Fluxys'' strategy in the context of the energy transition from a technical perspective and converting it into reality
• Identifying the needs of future customers and general needs and converting them into technical project implementation
• Developing projects in terms of scope, budget and planning via various decision-making milestones
• Aligning initial demand with long-term potential to ensure appropriate implementation and profitability
• Integrating the operation of new infrastructure, in close cooperation with the operations divisions
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partners, customers, public authorities, etc.) in order to create a favourable environment for project implementation

Project management

• Coordinating and inspiring company-wide project teams of internal stakeholders, experts and external partners
• Developing project plans, identifying risks and formulating realistic solutions
• Planning the internal decision-making process by providing important information in a timely manner
• Monitoring the progress of projects and managing the work schedule, resources and the budget
• Integrating projects into the technical activities of Fluxys and its subsidiaries and ensuring an efficient transition to the operational phase

Fluxys ambassador

• Promoting Fluxys as a key player in the energy transition that adds value by offering infrastructure-based solutions

About you

• A master''s degree in engineering
• At least five years'' relevant work experience in industrial project management
• Experience in project development related to low-carbon gas, alternative energy carriers or natural gas would be a major plus
• Strong analytical thinking skills
• The ability to independently manage projects from idea to investment decision
• Good technical skills, a proactive attitude and a results-oriented approach
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• The ability to deal with uncertainties and adapt to a dynamic environment
• A real sense of team spirit
• A good knowledge of Dutch, French and English
• The flexibility to travel abroad when needed
