Calik Enerji Swiss AG is looking for a Legal & Compliance Manager with proven expertise to join an established and high-performing legal team reporting directly to the Head of Legal at Calik Enerji. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and managing the corporate compliance program and advising EPC(F) projects in the energy infrastructure and renewable energy investment sectors, contributing to the Companys continued success in delivering complex and high-value projects. The full-time position will be based in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring full tax compliance with Swiss tax legislation (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, etc.), including the timely and accurate preparation/review of all tax returns and declarations.
- Developing and implementing tax strategies, identifying tax planning and optimization opportunities for the Swiss entity and related international operations.
- Managing transfer pricing policies, documentation, and compliance in accordance with Swiss and international standards.
- Calculating and reporting tax provisions and deferred taxes under IFRS and/or local GAAP for financial statement purposes.
- Acting as the main point of contact for and managing tax audits and inquiries from Swiss tax authorities.
- Analyzing the tax implications of significant business transactions, contracts (including EPC projects), and providing proactive tax advice to management.
- Coordinating with the head office (Turkey) and other group entities on cross-border tax matters and ensuring alignment.
- Monitoring changes in Swiss and relevant international tax legislation and assessing their potential impact on the company''s operations.
- Managing relationships with external tax advisors as needed.
- Providing necessary tax-related information and documentation to internal stakeholders and Independent Auditors.
- Developing and maintaining effective internal controls over tax processes and reporting.
- Liaising with tax authorities, customers, suppliers, and other public authorities on tax-related matters where necessary.
- Collaborating closely with the head office Finance/Tax teams and supporting management reporting needs from a tax perspective.
Key requirements:
- Swiss or EU citizenship, or existing visa to work in Switzerland
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Law or related field (Master''s degree or specialization in Tax is a plus)
- Min. 8-12 years of dedicated experience in corporate tax, preferably within an international company''s tax department or a major accounting/tax advisory firm.
- Experience in an international company, preferably in the Energy sector
- Experience in managing the tax aspects of large EPC projects in the Energy sector is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Swiss corporate tax law (CIT, VAT, WHT, etc.) and international tax principles (including Transfer Pricing).
- Experience with tax accounting under IFRS or local GAAP.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Swiss Certified Tax Expert / Dipl. Steuerexperte) is highly preferred. CPA or equivalent is a plus.
- Good command of Microsoft Office Programs (especially Excel) and SAP (FI module) or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced level of English and Turkish, both verbal and written, especially with very good knowledge on technical vocabulary.
- Familiarity with Turkish tax regulations and business culture is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, time management, communication, and detail-oriented skills.
