Automation Engineer (projects based) - Ghent Region - Permanent Role
I''m currently partnered with a global name in the energy industry, focused on oil & gas as well as renewable energies & biofuels. They are looking for an experienced automation engineer to take a key role in automation projects focused around CAPEX, OPEX & Modernisation. As well as controlling and optimising automation in production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute automation projects under both OPEX and CAPEX budgets, including ICT-related initiatives.
- Participate in studies aimed at optimizing and expanding the automation infrastructure.
- Support other engineers in troubleshooting.
- Independently program and engineer small to mid-scale automation projects.
- Support major capital projects in coordination with the IT and project management teams.
- Provide shift coverage for automation technicians as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor''s Degree in a related field.
- Solid technical knowledge in automation is required.
- Knowledge of IT, instrumentation, and electronics is a plus.
- Proven capability and experience taking an important role in automation projects.
- Willingness to occasionally support the technicians with maintenance and troubleshooting where needed.
